Protein Smoothie (Delicous and Healthy)

The great thing about smoothies is that you can add just about anything you want in it.  There probably a million different types of smoothie.  I, personally, have a tough time eating enough servings of vegetables a day.  So I blend vegetables in my smoothie to get some veggies in my diet.

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen banana (Break half or thirds for easier blend) (Frozen for creamy texture and no need for ice)
  • 1/2-1 cup of strawberries and/or other berries (Frozen)
  • 1 cup of milk or water
  • 1/2 cup of yogurt
  • 1/2 cup of oatmeal
  • As much spinach as you want (High in nutrients, low in calories) (How I get my veggies)
  • 1-2 tbsp. of natural peanut or almond butter (Almond butter is better)
  • 1 drop of natural honey
  • 1 scoop of protein powder (optional)
Put all those ingredients into the blender.  You can add other fruits and veggies if you prefer.  Blend for about 30 seconds or until all the ingredient is blended up.  If the smoothie is too thick, add bit more milk or water and blend for another 10-15 seconds.  If the smoothie is too thin, add some ice cubes in it and blend for 10-15 seconds.

Smoothies are very nutritious and tasty.  You can have it for breakfast, snack, before workout, or after workout.  They are packed with vitamins, minerals, and fiber which is very beneficial to your body.  Enjoy!
